The Last
of the
Lion Hunters
Authors Note: I write all of my books as stand-alone books - I do not expect readers to feel forced to buy a series of books as a money-making scheme, that is not me. That said, if you do plan to read the first book in the series, then don't read below, as there may be spoilers.

The Last of the Lion Hunters

The Last of the Lion Hunters picks up a few years after the ending of The Sun Also Sets. Roosevelt has headed to Kondoo's village North and finds a happy and idyllic life helping Kondoo's village grow and prosper, but yet without affecting their culture and heritage. For those who recall, Roosevelt was never keen on someone changing a man's heritage.
All the men go out on an annual pilgrimage, they will be gone for the week...Roosevelt stays with the village, as well does Kondoo - to watch over things but mainly because the pilgrimage is about them. Every year, the men in the village re-enact the great lion hunt Roosevelt and Kondoo are known for, using this time to take game to store for the winter months. With Grandma Shani around, everyone knows better than to cause trouble anyway.

On a peaceful day, all their lives are shattered. A band of poachers enter the villiage and take it over. They have a wounded man from a run in with Rangers and need a place to lay low until things blow over and the man is healed enough they can move him. The villagers are peaceful, Kondoo wishes to see this time pass without incident and placates a peaceful solution to wait things out. Roosevelt will have none of it.

Tense days pass, Rangers come and go looking for the poachers, Roosevelt waits for the right time to make his move. However, it seems nothing is going in the way of the villagers...if they can just hold out until all their men return....

It is again, an ending none will see coming. Is being passive the only way to resolution...or does Roosevelt have a trick and a plan up his sleeve, for one last lion hunt?
